Hello and welcome to "Shir Khan's Tiger Site", the private information site about tigers. On this page I would like to inform the reader about the presumably most beautiful creature on our mother earth: The tiger.
The "Spirit of the Forest"" has inspired thoughts of mankind for thousands of years. Many tribes, which share the habit of the tiger see the tiger as a deity and revere him. How many stories have been told about him? The tiger is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating animals on earth.
Unfortunately, there are also dark sides of the story: The tiger is threatend wherever he is found. Millions are set onto his head, and he is threatened by unscrupulous poachers and prestige-hungry hunters. In Far East, parts of the tiger's body are still used to produce traditional medicine. Healing effects are more than questionable.
On the following pages, I would like to help the reader to understand the situation of the tiger, and perhaps to understand the tiger itself. Have a lot of fun!
